This highway exit is only accessible for southbound traffic (eastbound, actually, at this spot, but the highway signs refer to 101 south). There are no specific parking spots; the whole Vista Point paved area is a safe place to pull over with room for dozens of cars (semi trucks, too). There is a grand view of the Pacific coast between Gaviota and Santa Barbara, and a view of Santa Rosa Island in the distance. Beach access is discouraged. A steep, unofficial path leads down from one end of the Vista Point exit.
