State Street United Methodist Church

The State Street United Methodist Church was built in 1895 but was only a portion of the size it is today. Due to a growing membership, it was decided that the church needed to expand, so the cornerstone for the new addition was laid on July 10, 1900. The new addition was large enough to seat 800 people. Directly above the cornerstone is the bell tower which contains 5 bells that ring each day at 11:00 am. The bells also play holiday songs during the Christmas season.
