The elevation at this view point is 787 feet and the view is looking west toward the eastern side of the Santa Cruz Mountains, part of the Pacific Coastal Ranges of mountains. The Filoli Mansion, most famous as the mansion seen in the opening scenes to the TV show Dynasty, is clearly visible from this viewpoint. At this point, one is looking across the San Andreas earthquake fault-line and looking north one can see the Crystal Springs Lake, which resides in that fault. This Vista Point is a memorial to a fallen CHP officer. A plaque at the parking lot reads:
