Per the county website, Jefferson County EMS provides ambulance and paramedic service to all residents in the county 24 hours a day. There are 10 ambulances, with seven of them manned at a time. The department includes 41 full-time paramedics and three office workers. There are four stations — New Market, Dandridge, White Pine and Chestnut Hill. The department responds to all emergencies, and also transports senior citizens and convalescents to the doctor or hospital. The department oversees the county’s disaster planning and homeland security emergency readiness.
