I don't if it's typical Dutch but here you can switch from car to public bus (or the other way around ;-). This type of locations are located near the major cities of the Netherlands. The idea is to limit the number of cars that go into the center of these cities. As an additional bonus, special buslanes has been created to give the bus a free way into the center. Unfortunaly Dutch people do prefer the traffic jams above these busses.
