One of the two main access points into Kingsport, TN from Virginia, the four-lane Highway TN93 necks down to two lanes through the gap to connect to two-lane VA224 which then leads to US58 (heading to Weber City or Bristol). There is a Valero gas station in the gap on the Virginia side.

Per an article on rootsweb (here), "Wadlow Gap was named for John Wadlow, an early settler in the gap."

Have included a portion of the Kingsport Quad, TN,VA topo map in the gallery for rapid verification of this waymarking post. No name sign was found at the actual gap, but is well known in the area.

Access:
Hwy TN93 becomes Wadlow Gap Road, which is Hwy VA224. Gap right at the TN/VA state line.
