This freestanding granite historical marker is located at the site of the first Kansas station on the Pony Express between Missouri and California.

The marker was dedicated on April 3, 2005, by the Means family, James Stretesky, Affiliated Foods Midwest, Herzog Contracting Corp, Carson Communications LLC, Ray and Mary Jo Becker family, Pony Express Community Bank, and Pony Express Trail Association.
