Statue is atop the monument and surrounded by 4 additional statues. Monument is 56 meters (185 feet) high and can be climbed inside via a very narrow stairway.
Constructed in 1859, the original monument was destroyed by a bomb on 17 april 1840.
Built to commemorate Sir Issac Brock, a Major General who commanded British forces, and was killed during the battle of Queenston Heights, war of 1812.
