The Drift Creek (Bear Creek) Covered Bridge was originally located south of Lincoln City across Drift Creek. The howe truss design bridge was originally constructed in 1914 and was considered the longest standing covered bridge in Oregon. The bridge was rebuilt in 1938. For many years the bridge afford pedestrian traffic until 1988 when it wad determined to be unsafe for pedestrian traffic and was closed. In 1997 the bridge was dismantled and moved to its current location and reconstructed. The reconstructed bridge was dedicated in 2001.
