This memorial consists of two sword-equipped persons holding between them a plaque with the names of Dutch resistance fighters killed in action against the Germans on 13 February 1945 or executed on 17 February 1945.
The memorial is placed on the roadside on the road called "Benedeneind Zuidzijde" connecting Polsbroekerdam and Benschop.
The plaque contains the names and birth dates and birthplaces of those who died here (see photograph) and the following text in Dutch:
DIED OR EXECUTED
IN BENSCHOP ON
13 OR 17 FEBR 1945
THOU ALL, NOBEL AND BRAVE HEROES,
FALLEN TOGETHER, THOU RESTED SELDOM,
THOU WAS ALWAYS READY FOR THE NEEDED:
DID NOT REALIZE THE DANGER, NOR FEARED DEATH.
THOU GAVE THY LIVES, UNITED,
FOR GOD, PEOPLE AND QUEEN.
