This dog use area was carved out of Jeffrey Fontana Park. This area had become a meeting place for local dog owners and they petitioned the city of San Jose for dedicated use of the area. A fenced area was built to cordon off the dog use area and separate the dogs from other park users and kids in a nearby playground. The area is about 100 yards long and 30 yards wide. It is divided into two area, a smaller area for small dogs and the larger area for big dogs. There are chairs and benches within the fenced area for the owners to relax, while their dogs run free. Parking is available on nearby Golden Oak Way. Jeffrey Fontana Park is located along the access way for high tension power lines and the base of one of the towers sits in the large dog use area.
