Behind the Episcopal Church on Court Street is an old cemetery which has been around since about 1640. The main entrance is on Village Avenue, across the street from the old Dedham Jail building that is now a condominium complex. The dirt road takes you by many graves. Some of the graves are founding fathers of Dedham, such as Fisher Ames. There is a plaque that also mentions church ministers and other people buried here.
There are, very roughly, 500 graves at this location. No more bodies are buried at this location.
