This is a shoreline park which typically has a stiff breeze in the afternoons. This artwork catches the wind to play notes like an organ through vibrating, tuned pipes. Each pipe has an opening at ear height, the better to hear the tones up close.

The artists are Bill and Mary Buchen, and according to their website: "The forerunner of this instrument is a series of hollowed out bamboo tubes found in the Solomon Islands of Micronesia. They were left in situ and turned bamboo groves into singing forests."
