The Slippery Ford Swinging Bridge is about a 100-foot span across Craig’s Creek near the community of Oriskany in Botetourt County. The bridge is constructed of plank board with two suspension cables that are attached to two metal towers located at either end of the span. The Slippery Ford Bridge is located on Route 615, about half way between New Castle and Eagle Rock, Virginia. The bridge is privately owned but is accessible to the public. There is a small parking area located at the north end of the bridge. And yes it really does swing.
