The present York Cathedral was built from the start date of 1220,taking 250 years to complete,York Minster is one of the greatest cathedrals of the world,and also the largest Gothic church in England,being 524 feet in length,250 feet in width,from the floor to the vault it is 90 feet,and the 2 West towers rising to 184 feet,with the Lantern tower rising to 234 feet.
York Minster's most glorious feature is the wealth of stained glass,128 windows in total.
The awe inspiring 15th century East window is the worlds largest area of medieval stained glass,the window depicts the beginning and the end of the world.
