When you don't have a monthly pass or daily ride ticket, the MST busses take cash (exact change only) but it's much cheaper to get a pass if you ride often. This is the station in Monterey to buy passes. They're open weekdays from 8AM-12:30PM and 1:304:45PM.
It's located about three blocks from the Transit Plaza, which is the main transfer location between county bus lines.
