This series of 5 bas relief sculptures were commissioned for the Bicentenary Events Corporation in 1997. The sculptures were design and made by Julie Squires, Greg Bell and Mini Heath. The 5 panels are fictional images that show the history and maritime environment of the local area.
This series of Bas Relief Sculptures are situated at the end of the Nobby's head break wall. The break wall is at the opening of the Hunter River to the Pacific Ocean at the Port of Newcastle. There is parking at just near Newcastle beach (S32° 55.419' E151° 47.515'). From the carpark you can take a leisurely stroll along the beach and break wall to the end where you will find the Relief Sculptures.
