Back in the late 1990's, citizens of the New Hampshire were engaged in fighting against the opening of Wal-mart stores in the area. Several towns petitioned and made lawsuits against having a Wal-mart in their towns. Finally Wal-mart won a battle and was able to build in Epping. (rumors go about the town of Epping being rewarded with a new fire station, police cars, etc.)
