Howard, and the surrounding Miner County, are within one-hour driving distance of the major cities of eastern South Dakota, including Mitchell, Huron, Brookings, and Sioux Falls. At Howard Industries, the community's economic development board, we work to recruit new business and industry while helping our existing industries grow and expand.
In addition to Howard, the communities of Canova, Carthage, Epiphany, Fedora, Roswell and Vilas are situated in Miner County. Children from all of the area communities attend school in Howard, "Home of the Tigers".
