Roberts Lake and nearby Laguna Grande were once a tidal estuary but development and fill for the coast highway cut off ocean influence. The freshwater lake is named for Dr. John Roberts, one of the founders of Seaside. There are few park facilities here; its most popular use is merely by bicyclists and joggers passing through on the trail which used to be the SP railway.
