The bright pink building is now a house but was once an inn. The plaque reads as follows:
'This house was anciently the Rose & Crown Inn & here in 1483 Richard, Duke of Gloucester (Richard III) captured the uncrowned boy King Edward V, who was later murdered in the Tower of London.'
This is also mentioned in Shakespeare's book 'Richard III'.
