Text from the sign:
"One Voice Arts and Leadership Program.
This mural commemorates the passage of the Olympic Torch through the City of Seaside on its way to the opening ceremony for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The Olympic Torch Relay began in Atlanta, GA and continued for 65 days through 46 of the United States, on a 13,500-mile journey to Salt Lake City, UT.
The Olympics is the longest lasting social activity that exists. People from all over the world come together in an environment of peace and mutual understanding to compete and make friends as one race, the human race. This symbol of world unity, sportsmanship and competitive perseverance graced Monterey Bay on January 17, 2002."
The background of the mural is painted on the building wall; the torch is a separate wooden cutout in front of the mural.
