The Mansfield Free Public Library was founded in 1901 with $600 worth of used books from a Philadelphia bookstore. An appeal was made to Andrew Carnegie in 1911 when a larger facility was needed. Mansfield Free Public Library received a $5000 grant from Carnegie.
