This church was originally established at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in 1820 by Elder James Yarbrough and 27 charter members. By 1834 it had over 150 members. The church is still in service today. It is one of the oldest in the area. Buried in the cemetery are Revolutionary War veterans who founded and help establish this church.
