This benchmark is located along U.S. Hwy. 20 about 6.5 miles northwest of Brothers. The benchmark is set in rock outcrop about 55 feet southwest of highway centerline. The benchmark was set by the Oregon Department of Transportation in 1927 and was marked 27.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 6.5 MI NW FROM BROTHERS. ABOUT 6.5 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG THE CENTRAL OREGON HIGHWAY (U.S. 20) FROM THE STORE AND SERVICE STATION AT BROTHERS, DESCHUTES COUNTY, ABOUT 0.6 MILE EAST OF THE JUNCTION OF THE BEAR CREEK HIGHWAY (OREGON 27), IN A SMALL COVE AT THE SUMMIT OF THE FIRST HILL EAST OF THE JUNCTION, ABOUT 145 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER OF THE JUNCTION OF A SIDE ROAD LEADING SOUTH, 53 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 76 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE EAST END OF A SNOW FENCE, AND IN THE TOP OF A ROCK OUTCROP ABOUT FLUSH WITH THE GROUND. AN OREGON STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT STANDARD DISK, STAMPED 27 1927.
