Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory & Gardens is located in Deerfield, Massachusetts. It is only a couple of miles from Interstate 91, so getting there should be fairly straight forward. There is even a sign showing the way to Magic Wings as you exit the Interstate.
Once inside (and paying admission), you first enter a room that has some butterfly displays and facts, as well as assorted live amphibians and insects including poisonous frogs and walking sticks.
You can then enter the 8000 square foot conservatory which is home to nearly 4000 free-flying butterflies from all over the world. They have all sorts of different butterflies and you can even purchase a butterfly identification chart for a nominal fee to chart the different butterflies that you have encountered. The heart shaped koi pond and numerous exotic plants make your visit truly fascinating.
After leaving the conservatory, consider a trip to the gift shop where you can find all sorts of nifty things from tee-shirts and jewelry to greeting cards and books.
On site is also the Monarchs Restaurant offering casual to upscale dining. There is also a Magic Wings food court if you would rather just grab a quick snack.
They are open all year, only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Check the website (listed below) for additional information.
Please note that strollers are not allowed inside the conservatory or gift shop, so leave those in the car.
