The lookout point has parking for roughly dozen vehicles. RVs should not try to go to the far end, but use the turnaround point just short of the lined parking spots.

Norris dam was the first one constructed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to control flooding and provide hydroelectric power. Norris Lake is a popular recreational spot for boating and fishing. The information signs give more details on the history and use of the dam.
