The memorial is a small statue with a helmet and boots, and a flag. The marker reads:
"In honor of all residents and employees of the City of Hazel Park, Michigan who have served in the armed forces of the United States of America during times of peace, conflict or war. To fight for our country witout question or pause: For freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it. When true to this glorius quest, they heart will be peacful and calm when laid to thy rest...
