The memorial is a small statue with a policmans uniform, and a flag. The marker reads:
"In honor of all residents and employees of the City of Hazel Park, Michigan who have served as law enforcement officers / first responders. Protecting our freedoms and safety in an often uncertain world. These men and women daily dut their duty when danger threatens or tragedy strikes. Police officers instinctivly enter in persuit of evil when others flee: To fight the unbeatable foe. To Bear the unbearable sorrow. To run where the brave dare note go...
Never forget those who have laid down their lives for their fellow man.

Hazel Park police officer Jessica Nagle-Wilson

Jessica lost her life serving the citizens of Hazel Park.
