Dorothy Wyndlow Pattison was born in 1832 and came to Walsall in 1865.
A much respected and loved lady who did much to ease the sufferings of the working people of Walsall. For her tireless service and devotion in establishing a medical service,this statue was erected. She was the first non royal woman to be so honoured.
The statue was unveiled on the 11th October 1886.
