This church building originally was the North Presbyterian Church and was built in 1857. In 1908 it was acquired by the a Polish community and became the Saints Cyril and Methodius Polish National Catholic Church. The Polish National Catholic Church was founded in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1897. Most Polish immigrants were devout Roman Catholics but overtime several became discontent with the German and Irish dominated Roman Catholic hierarchy in the United States.
