At the southeast corner of Illinois Highways 17 and 113, visitors to Bird Park can find this Blue Star Marker.

The marker was installed in 1973 by the Garden Club of Kankakee County and the Kankakee Valley Park District.

The Blue Star Marker reads:
A tribute to the Armed Forces that have defended the United States of America.
