This congregation was formed in 1820, but not here. The original church building was up on Cemetery (also seen as Graveyard) Hill, but was destroyed during a Civil War battle. The current cornerstone states 1935. It is located along the Great Stage Road, which was a stagecoach route from Virginia to Kingsport.

Per the Sullivan County Historical District restrictions, the building is a Colonial Revival design.

Could not find a website for the actual congregation.
