Sculpture called Erosion II by the father-and son team of George E. and Scott MacDonald. It is placed directly in front of the downtown Puyallup post office.
This sculpture is constructed of concrete, steel, wood, and glass. Its dimensions are 5'x1'x8", and it weighs 200 lbs. It is available for purchase from ArtsDowntown, Puyallup's outdoor gallery, for $7,250. Erosion II is a part of a two-year rotating gallery of 32 sculptures and shares a place among the total of 65 public outdoor sculptures that grace downtown Puyallup.
Who knew that an all-volunteer non-profit arts group (ArtsDowntown) could acquire, curate, place and maintain 65 sculptures-- in a town of 36,000 population?
Puyallup, pronounced "pew-allup'"(Pew as in church pew and allup like in gallop), is the nearest small city to Mt. Rainier, and sits northwest the mountain along the Puyallup River in the alluvial plain created by the Puyallup glacier, in the magnificent state of Washington.
