This is the highway and exit ramp where the newlywed couple, John Short's character Curtis and Yeardley Smith's character Connie are driving away from the gas station that a crazy truck chased them away from.
The movie Maximum Overdrive is about about a comet, Rhea-M that the Earth passes into that for the next eight days, five hours, twenty-nine minutes, and twenty-three seconds makes anything mechanical go crazy. This scene with the newlyweds, Connie and Curtis are driving down the highway and they see a bunch of trucks all heading in the opposite direction. Then out of nowhere a truck pulls in front of them on their side of the highway. The truck then continues to chase them smashing in the back of their car. The couple then pulls off onto an exit ramp to trick the truck. The truck then smashes through a guard rail and explodes.
