This old bell once sat on a raised section of the volunteer fire department; it was used to call the volunteer firemen of the area to action. In the mid 70s the bell went silent when it was replaced by an electric siren. The Fire House was taken over by City Hall. When the roof was in need of replacement, it was decided this was a good time to remove the bell from the roof. The old bell was taken down and moved to its new location.
It is now on display in the historical section of Columbiana Village Circle, sitting proudly outside the Log Home Museum.
For all who may be interested, there is also a Geocache in the area.
It is GC15CAZ, and can be found at Geocaching.com
