Renmark Co-op Mural, Renmark ,South Australia - Murals on Waymarking.com

The mural was designed by Pastor Geoff Graetz and painted by Renmark High School students in 1998. It depicts the Renmark Co-op fruit packing shed, which was formerly located at this site. After packing, the fruit was loaded onto paddle steamers and barges for transportation. In later years the fruit was moved by rail and the train line came right up to this spot. Now all the rail lines in the district have been removed and everything travels by road. There is also a a plaque on a stone nearby to recognise the history of this place. The Riverland Area is proud of its fruit growing heritage and this mural is an example of how it is honored.
