1870 - Cotton gin and grist mill began operation and did so until the mid-1920's. foundations of the grist mill can still be seen on the Jefferson side of the Park.

The Grist Mill was rebuilt in the 1980's and is fully functional today. It grinds corn meal for the Art in the Park Festival.

From the backside of the Mill, the turbine can be seen in the lower left hand corner.
