The Pinewood Fire Dept serves the Munds Park area along I-17 from Stoneman Lake to Kelly Canyon. The Pinewood Volunteer Association was formed in 1973, becoming a Special Fire District in 1976.

Pinewood Fire Department is located in Munds Park, Arizona nestled in the Coconino National Forest in Northern Arizona 20 miles south of Flagstaff. We cover 25 miles of Interstate 17 from Stoneman Lake exit 306 to Kelly Canyon exit 331. In addition to providing fire suppression, and rescue services, we also provide emergency medical service and staff our own ambulances.
To better serve our community we have experienced numerous changes in recent years. One such change has been in staffing, currently we have 4 paid staff on duty 24 hours a day, 1 captain and 3 firefighters with a minimum staffing of 3 firefighters, which are certified at minimum of EMT-B with at least 1 ALS (EMT-I / Paramedic) on duty each shift.
