Parilla is a small town in the Mallee region of South Australia. It boasts a population of approximately 80 people. In 1991 a committee was formed with the aim of promoting the town. After much research and discussion the committee came up with the concept of a historical mural. The design was put together with the assistance of historical photographs and the local history book and shows the town in its heyday. For such a small town it has made a big effort to entice visitors to stop: shady parking, picnic tables, free shower and toilet, historical display, great pub!
