It's been said that nostalgia is in the heart of Punta Gorda.
When the first downtown gas station, built in 1955, was purchased in 2003 by Steve to transform it into Steve's Auto Shoppe, its renovation and repurposing was done with a keen eye on the importance of the cars in Punta Gorda's history.
A four-panel mural was commissioned and a number of automotive relics were preserved and placed on display, including two restored Tokheim gas pumps that display in front with a functional pump in between them.
