He was born 24 Aug 1896 in St. Francois, Quebec ,Canada and died 29 Sep 1997 in Nashua, NH. He left the family farm in Canada about 1925 to start a new life in Nashua, NH. He came alone after having two children in Canada. After a year he sent for his wife and the children when he felt settled enough. He owned a wood lot, grocery stores and held a job in local companies to support the family. My father was the first child born in the US. They eventually had 12 children. I was the first grandchild and my daughter was the first great-grandchild. I was very fortunate to have spent many years in his company while growing up and into adulthood. He mostly only spoke french which I had learned as a child in school. I have posted a four generation photo showing me, my father and my eldest daughter in my grandfather's arms. I also posted a picture of my grandfather at his 100th birthday party where he danced a Canadian Jig with energy that I hope to maintain at my current age and beyond. He was vibrant to the end and I would be blessed to follow in his footsteps.
