In the year 1850, arrangements were made with Reverend A.P. Smith to hold services in the village. The parish was organized around 1856, however, it was another 10 years before the current edifice was built. St. Paul's Church was built in 1866 at a cost of 5,000 dollars, most of which was raised by the young ladies of the Chittenango community. It has been in continuous use since that time. St. Paul's Episcopal Church has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places as of 1996, with the architecture style listed as Gothic Revival.
