Like many city flags, the flag of San Jose contains a central image of its City Seal. The Seal is a sheaf of grain surrounded by vines and the words "City of San Jose California" and below the circle, the words "Founded in 1777".
This particular flag flies on an impressive flagpole alongside the city sports arena (now named HP Pavilion).
