According to the website Southern Pacific Transportation Company - Depots, Freight Houses, and Line-side Structures, by Art Fisher (visit link) , the Fowler Depot is a Southern Pacific Common Standard Number 3. Art’s photos of the depot, taken in 2000, indicate the building was being used for an antiques business. It is currently empty and surrounded by a chain link fence.

In the book “The Valley's Legends & Legacies III” by Catherine Morison Rehart, it is stated that the Fowler depot was constructed in 1882.
