The Orange County Performing Arts Center opened on September 29, 1986 in Costa Mesa, California. Featuring an iconic exterior design, the building is the center of the "south coast metro" arts district. A number of other performance-related structures have appeared in the area, as have several outdoor sculptures (including a piece by Henry Moore). From the beginning, the hall has been noted for superior acoustics and other advanced technical features. Seating is arranged in four levels, defined as "orchestra" and tiers 1-3.
