The Robert McKittrick Jones House was built in 1890. The Richardsonian Romanesque style house was designed by the architectural firm of Eames and Young. Robert McKittrick Jones, an Irish immigrant, was involved in the dry goods business in St. Louis as the owner of Robert McK. Jones & Company. He was also involved in banking, being a director in couple different banks in St. Louis.
