Most likely relocated from another location, this gate is popular with the wedding photographers that frequent this park. There is most likely several thousand wedding albums with a photo of the bride and groom posing at this gate. I believe this is the original Guildwood Parkway Gate, as listed in the Ontario Heritage Properties database.
The gate is located on a garden path that overlooks the Scarborough Bluffs and Lake Ontario. While you are here, make sure you take the time to explore the rest of the property. There are many building facades here in the garden that have been relocated from (typically) Downtown Toronto.
Note - if you come here in the warmer months you may have to wait for a wedding party to finish before you can get a photo of the gate.
The Guild Inn is a now defunct hotel, but the hallmark of the property is now a park operated by the City of Toronto. The building facades were relocated here by the previous owners of the property.
