Constructed around 1877, the Agnew Depot originally served a narrow gauge rail line (South Pacific Coast Railroad) that ran between Alameda and Santa Cruz. A branch line from this depot served the Lick Paper Mills and a State Asylum.

The building was later purchased by the California Central Model Railroad Club in 1963 and was dedicated as an historical landmark by order of the Santa Clara City Council in 1988.

The building resides as 4185 Bassett St. in Santa Clara County and can be reached by heading north on Montague Expressway from I-101 for 0.38 miles, 148 yards west on Mission College Blvd., 142 yards north on Burton Drive, 0.28 miles south-east on Wyatt Dr., then 0.24 miles north along Bassett St. to the station.
