Great Allegheny Passage - Connellsville South Access - Connellsville, Pennsylvania
This is a simple access point at the edge of Connellsville, the only town on the Great Allegheny Passage that actually goes through the community itself and shares a city street.
The trail to this point was completed in 1995 and ended here for about a year until the section south to Adelaide (4 Miles North of here). This point is a beginning of a popular 28 mile excursion to Confluence through Ohiopyle State Park.
The trail here is maintained by the Yough River Trail Council (YRTC), a trail chapter of the Regional Trail Corporation (RTC). YRTC maintains the trail for 11 miles southeast of this access (Bruner Run) and 13 miles northwest of this access (Layton)
The western boundary of Ohiopyle State Park is located just yards away from the access. From here it is 17 miles to the nearest servies, as the trail traverses through the Chestnut Ridge.
Parking is available on the Streets nearby, or at the Yough River Park, about 1/2 trail miles away.
